    2017-2018 School Information



    • School Hours:  7:30-1:55 (Classroom Instruction begins promptly at 7:45 a.m.)


    • School-Wide Classroom Breakfast Program will be served from 7:30-7:40 A.M. (only bus students will be allowed in the breakfast line after 7:40 a.m.). 


    • Lunch cost has increased to $2.75.  All families are REQUIRED to submit an online lunch form at www.applyforlunch.comIf your child received free or reduced lunch last year, you are still REQUIRED to submit a new form. Their status from the previous year will remain in effect until September 30, 2017. Once applications are submitted, you will receive an approval sheet confirming your child’s status.


    • All Parents and Visitors are expected to Sign In at the Main Office in order to obtain a Visitor’s Pass.  Proper identification must be provided at all times when entering the building.


    • Each student in grades 1-5 will receive a Free Agenda Book to log all Daily assignments. Lost Agenda Books will cost $4.00.


    • Every student will receive a Red Wednesday Folder.  This Folder will go home each Wednesday with all school related communication. Lost Folders will cost $2.00.


    School Uniforms are worn every day!


    Springhill Lake Uniforms are as follows:

    Short or Long Sleeved White, Navy Blue or Light Blue Collared, Polo style shirts (no logos) 


    Navy Blue Pants, Shorts (for boys only), Skort/Shorts, Skirts or Jumper (for girls only) 


    Fully enclosed shoes or tennis shoes (no sandals or open toed shoes)  


    • The official dismissal time is 1:55 p.m. Early Dismissal ends at 1:30 p.m.  In order to release a student for early dismissal, a valid picture ID and person’s name must be listed on Family Information Sheet in advance.  Please note:  Person must be over the age of 18 years old.

    Please keep our dismissal process smooth by honoring the school’s policy.


    • School Bus & Transportation Information will come directly from the Prince Georges County Public Schools Transportation Office.  Please see the website www.pgcps.org for additional information or contact transportation directly at 301-952-6570.
