• Friday, January 18, 2019 — PGCPS — Code Orange: PGCPS schools and offices will open with a two-hour delay.

    EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave.

    • There will be no work-study transportation. (Those students should not report to school.)
    • There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.
    • Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center, JA Finance Park, and William S. Schmidt Center (Camp Schmidt)
    • All field trips will be cancelled.
    • Food Services will offer breakfast.


    Viernes, el 18 de enero — PGCPS— Código naranja: Las escuelas comenzarán dos horas después del horario normal.

    El personal de emergencia no es eligible para tomar licencia liberal, y debe presentarse a trabajar puntualmente.

  • Uniform Policy

    SPES Uniform Policy

      

     

    Uniform dress is required to be worn by all students everyday. All uniforms should be neat and clean. Students are asked to practice good hygiene and take pride in their appearance.  The following are possible consequences for violations to the school’s dress policy:

     

    • a phone call home for someone to bring a change of clothing 

    • student sent to office to determine if policy violation can be corrected

     

    TOPS

    • Solid Light Blue or white  

    • Long or short sleeved, with collar, polo-style shirt  

    • Tops must be tucked in  

     

    OTHER TOPS  

    • Navy blue sweaters  

    • All navy blue sweaters must be worn over uniform shirt  

     

    BELTS  

    • One color; plain black, dark brown, navy blue  

     

    SHOES  

    • Plain black or white tennis shoes may be worn  

    • Must be fully enclosed  

    • Boots may be worn during inclement weather  

     

    PANTS, SKIRTS, JUMPERS, SKORTS  

    • Navy blue only  

    • Skirts, jumpers and Skorts should be fingertip length or longer.  

     

    SOCKS AND HOISERY  

    • White, black or navy blue  

    • Socks or hosiery can be worn.  

    • Hosiery should be one color all over. No stripes or designs.

     

     

    Exceptions are made for special school events. These exceptions will be shared via “call-out system” or letter sent home. Additionally, the dress policy will accommodate the students’ religious expression.
