At Robert Frost, our goal is to make our students life long learners. With that goal in mind, students are taught to be strategic readers. The students receive instruction in how to use strategies (predicting, questioning, summarizing, inferring and synthesizing information) to make their reading more meaningful.

The Role of the Parent: Parents are an important part of the team at Robert Frost. Parents play a vital role in their child’s education by volunteering at the school. Outside of the school, they make sure children do homework on a nightly basis and regularly check their child’s agenda book.  Parents conference with the teacher and keep lines of communication open.  They take the child to the library and let the child choose a wide variety of books. Reading together at night is particularly beneficial. It is important that the students see their parents read as well.
