The Title I Office is pleased to announce that the TEDL (Transforming Education Through Digital Learning) iPad Program has been named an Apple Distinguished School for 2013 to 2015 for its implementation of iPad technology into the learning experience.   The Title I TEDL program  in Prince George’s County Public Schools  is in its fifth year of a 1:1 iPad program that began in 2011.  The TEDL initiative has been recognized for the second time as an Apple Distinguished Program. The Apple Distinguished School Program Award is reserved for educational programs that meet criteria for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence, and demonstrate Apple’s vision of exemplary learning environments.

Prince George's County Public Schools Title I Office has chosen ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development) as its newest professional development partner. As the second largest school system in Maryland and the 18th largest in the nation, PGCPS's 9,000+ educators serve 125,000 students in 209 schools.   There are currently 75 Title I Schools in PGCPS.  To meet the goal of improving teacher effectiveness in nine identified Title I schools, PGCPS Title I staff chose ASCD and its customizable and sustainable capacity-building solution.  Available to schools, districts, or regional service agencies, ASCD's capacity-building solution can be delivered on site, virtually, or in a blended model.  Click here to read more about this partnership.
