    Program Description
    4 hour program
    1 class (32 students)
    Through inquiry-based activities, students analyze tap water as a mixture monitored and modified by STEM professionals and governments. Working in pairs, students design and carry out investigations to distinguish types of water from each other and from other clear liquids, and use the presence of benthic macroinvertebrates to draw inferences about the composition of surface water samples. Students learn about opportunities to acquire more specialized knowledge and skills through PGCPS’ Career and Technical Education Program. Students must bring a cold lunch that can be consumed in 20 minutes.
