    Information Technology

    The Information Technology Program prepares students to meet the demands of the 21st century with a rigorous academic curriculum, while exposing them to the varied career paths and opportunities available in the information technology industry. Students are provided concentrated coursework in networking, computer science, web design, and interactive media production, which prepares students for post-secondary training and/or a career path in the information technology field.

    Programs of Study
    The Information Technology Program features the following two focus areas of study: 

    IT Networking (CISCO)
    IT Networking (CISCO) is a nationally recognized program that prepares students for successful careers in information technology fields such as computer network design and administration, hardware, software, and network installation, local and wide area network (LAN/WAN) management and systems engineering. Program courses are designed with the option of an applied or theoretical approach. As a result, students can earn industry certifications that are the first steps to earning the CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) licensure.

      • Program Duration: Four Years
      • Beginning Grade Level: 9th
      • Program Location: Flowers*, High Point*, Wise*, Gwynn Park*, DuVal*, Fairmont Heights*

    IT Networking, CISCO (Cybersecurity)
    Students enrolled in the IT Networking and CISCO (Cybersecurity) pathway focus on integrated computer threat detection and defense, cloud computing, data center security, identity-based network solutions, and highly secure remote access. As one of the fastest growing fields in IT and security, the pathway offers excellent career opportunities. Recommended World Languages: Arabic, Chinese, or Russian.
