• Friday, January 18, 2019 — PGCPS — Code Orange: PGCPS schools and offices will open with a two-hour delay.

    EMERGENCY PERSONNEL must report to work on time and are not eligible for liberal leave.

    • There will be no work-study transportation. (Those students should not report to school.)
    • There will be no half-day Early Childhood Center (ECC), half-day Special Education Programs, or half-day PreK.
    • Any other school program requiring transportation prior to 12 noon will NOT have transportation, including Howard B. Owens Science Center, JA Finance Park, and William S. Schmidt Center (Camp Schmidt)
    • All field trips will be cancelled.
    • Food Services will offer breakfast.

    El personal de emergencia no es eligible para tomar licencia liberal, y debe presentarse a trabajar puntualmente.

     Volunteers and Chaperones

    Brandywine Elementary is thankful for all of the volunteers that make our school great!  

    Prince George's County Public Schools has created new requirements for all volunteers and chaperones.  Please be sure to complete these requirements, even if you are not signed up to volunteer yet, as they must be done prior to working with our students. 

    1. Background Checks 

      • Commercial Background Check is for volunteers who are participating in a ONE TIME EVENT (career day, school dance, book fair, ect.) in a supervised setting on campus. These must be completed annually.
        •  Please go to http://www1.pgcps.org/fingerprinting/ for more information on how to complete this requirement.
        • PLEASE BRING YOUR RECEIPT TO THE OFFICE AFTER COMPLETING THE BACKGROUND CHECK!   If we do not have a receipt from you, we are unable to verify that you have completed the requirement and you may not be able to volunteer.
           
         
      • Fingerprint Background Checks are for volunteers participating in FIELD TRIPS
        • Please go to http://www1.pgcps.org/fingerprinting/ for information on how to complete this requirement.
        • PLEASE BRING YOUR RECEIPT TO THE MAIN OFFICE AFTER COMPLETING THE BACKGROUND CHECK!   If we do not have a receipt from you, we are unable to verify that you have completed the requirement and you may not be able to volunteer.
         
     2. Reporting Child Abuse video 

     

    •      Complete the assessment found on the same site.  If viewed on your own, please print out the completion page to provide to the main office.
