• On Wednesday, March 25, State Superintendent of Education Dr. Karen Salmon announced that all Maryland public schools will remain closed through Friday, April 24.
    Picking up meals, digital devices and instructional materials for distance learning is permitted under Gov. Hogan's stay-at-home order (Sect IIb(iv)).

    District 8 Member Edward Burroughs, III Biography

    Since 2008, Edward Burroughs III has served on the Prince George’s County Board of Education, representing District 8.  In January 2019, he was appointed by Prince George’s County Executive, Angela Alsobrooks to serve as Vice-Chair. 

    In 2010, he was the youngest elected official in the State of Maryland. As a strong advocate for student achievement and activism, he believes that all students can excel with the proper support, guidance and resources. Mr. Burroughs graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, majoring in Political Science.
