    Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

    Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! We look forward to partnering with you in order to ensure that your child receives a high quality education. The Rosaryville Elementary School (RES) staff is recharged, energized and excited to welcome back all students. Please review the following announcements in preparation for the first day of school.

    School Vision- Please join us in supporting our school vision: The Rosaryville Elementary School vision is to build a community of excellence where 100% of Rosaryville Elementary School students exceed proficiency standards while gaining the knowledge, skills, and character traits that will lead to college readiness, life-long learning and civic engagement.

    Pre-K Orientation: RES will continue to have two full-day Pre-K classes. We will hold Pre-K Orientation on Thursday, August 29th at 8:30 AM. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend.

    Kindergarten Orientation: Kindergarten Orientation will take place on Thursday, August 29th at 10:00 AM. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend.

    Autism Program Classroom Preview: RES will host an opportunity for students in our Autism Program on Thursday, August 29thfrom 1:00-2:00 pm to visit their classroom(s). New and returning families are strongly encouraged to attend. *Please note: Kindergarten students in the Autism Program should only attend the Kindergarten Orientation held at 10:00 AM

    New Student Preview: New students in grades 1-5 are welcomed to meet their Guidance Counselor, preview their classroom, and meet their teacher(s) on Thursday, August 29th from 1:00-2:00.

    Back to School Night:
    We will hold Back to School Night for PreK- 2nd grades on Monday, September 16th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. We will hold Back to School Night for 3rd-5th grades on Tuesday, September 17th from 6:00pm-7:30pm. Please take advantage of this opportunity to meet your child’s teacher(s) and to learn about the curriculum and grade level expectations.

    Transportation: Bus arrival and departure times will be sent to parents from the PGCPS Department of Transportation. If you have questions regarding transportation, please contact the Transportation Office directly at (301) 952-6570.

    Supply List & Uniform Policy: The 2019-2020 supply list and uniform policy are available on our school website and are also available for pick up in the main office.

    Agenda Book Fee, Emergency Form, and Media Release: Students in grades 1-5 will use an agenda book to record daily homework assignments. The agenda books are for sale for $5.00. Please send your cash payment in a sealed and labeled envelope on the first day of school. Please also review the attached emergency and media release forms. Please complete and return on the first day of school.

    Parent Handbook: The Rosaryville Parent Handbook will be sent home on the first day of school. It can also be viewed on our RES website.
