Check out these resources to help your family supplement learning at home during school closures. 

Clever

The Clever digital learning portal is available to all PGCPS students  and includes apps across subject areas! Highlights include Dreambox (a math learning system for K-8), Discovery Education, Adobe SPARK (creativity tools for K-12) and Naviance for middle and high school students.

Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS)

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) is available 24/7 online with PGCMLS Digital Suite, Creative Suite, and more than 85 online resources. Explore pgcmls.info to access eBooks, audiobooks, music, movies, TV, and educational resources. PGCPS students have access to PGCMLS resources using their 9-digit Student ID Number. Example: PGCPS100100100. The last four digits of their ID number is the PIN. (Ex. 0100)

Scholastic

The Scholastic Learn at Home portal offers articles, stories, videos, and fun learning challenges by grade level.

Audible

Amazon announced a free Audible Stories website with audiobooks for children of all ages. Everything on the site is free, with no login or membership required.

Pinna

This streaming audio service offers families and teachers two free months of access to their audio streaming service for kids ages 3-12. To activate, go to Pinna and use promo code: PINNA4KIDS.

Capstone Interactive

The Capstone Interactive library of interactive ebooks can be searched by grade and lexile range. Access the Capstone library with username: continue and password: reading.

Storyline

Storyline Online is an award-winning children’s literacy website of videos featuring celebrated actors reading children’s books with creatively produced illustrations.

Teen Book Cloud

TeenBookCloud is an online database of eBooks where middle and high school students can read graphic novels, classic literature, audiobooks and more with no downloads or waiting!

Maryland State Library

The Maryland State Library has a great list of reading resources for all ages.

Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) 

MSDE offers English Language Arts lessons for grades PreK-12 aligned with the state’s College and Career-Ready Standards.

Count On Us

For help with math, PGCPS’ Count on Us video archive features math coaches that teach key concepts and problem solving strategies the way students are accustomed to learning in the classroom.

Visit the Smithsonian Learning Lab and Distance Learning hub for lessons, activities, and resources by Smithsonian museum educators as well as classroom teachers across the country. 

The PGCPS Science team offers these resources for elementary, middle and high school students.

The Maryland Agricultural Education Foundation is offering daily ag science lessons. 

Students in language immersion programs can download free apps, like DuoLingo to practice at home. The Language Immersion team also shares tips, online resources and read-alouds via their Twitter page.

The PGCPS Instrumental Music team has compiled a list of free resources to help students continue to learn and practice at home. In the works: online instructional videos demonstrating on each instrument how to play musical exercises and pitfalls to look out for.

For an art break, visual arts center McHarper Manor is hosting daily arts and craft tutorials on their Facebook page, with supply lists and all.
