  • August 26, 2019

Check out these tips on how to prepare for #PGCPS1stDay and have a strong start to the school year!

1. No Shots. No School. No Exceptions.

Does your child still need vaccinations?

Kaiser Permanente is hosting a free clinic at Prince George's Medical Center in Hyattsville from August 26 - August 30, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are several additional resources for families. View a complete list here

2. Don’t Miss the Bus!

New this year: bus stop information will not be issued by mail to parents/guardians.

All bus route info will be available via the Bus Stop Finder on our website and the SchoolMax Parent Portal. The BB District mobile app is another place you may view bus info. Download the Here Comes the Bus App to receive notifications on when children arrive at school or home.

Additional Ways to Locate Bus Stop Info:

-Parents/guardians may contact the school where their child is enrolled to receive bus info from the school's Transportation Coordinator

-Parents/guardians may visit their child's school on Friday, August 30 from 1-3 p.m.

-For additional assistance, contact the PGCPS Transportation Team at 301-952-6570 or email transpor@pgcps.org

3. Orientation Days

Orientation for Pre-K and Kindergarten students is August 29.

New 6th and 7th grade middle school students as well as incoming 9th grade students have a full-day orientation on August 30.

Your school can provide more info and the day's schedule.

4. Stay Connected!

Ensure you don't miss news and updates throughout the school year.

5. Review the 2019-2020 School Calendar

6. SchoolMax

In the PGCPS SchoolMax family portal you can view student schedules, keep up with grades and report cards, see bus route info and more! The portal will be available for log-in by August 30. Register for the portal here. You’ll need student ID numbers to get set up.

7. Got Lunch?
