Students from Eleanor Roosevelt High School competed against teams from 15 counties across the state and took fifth place in the annual Maryland Envirothon competition at St. Mary’s College!

The Envirothon offers high school students an opportunity to gain hands-on training and experiences in natural resources by career experts. Teams consist of five students who work together throughout the school year and are tested in the classroom and the field in aquatics, forestry, agriculture, soils and wildlife.

This is the third time in the last five years that the Roosevelt team has placed in the competition, and each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Prince George's County Soil Conservation District.
