IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Per PGCPS Administrative Procedure 0500, we must ensure that all visitors entering the building go to the front office to sign in and out of the building any time they go beyond the front office. This includes parents who wish to walk their children to the classroom door.

    First Days Visitor Plan

Parents and guardians please bring your IDs with you when you attend the August 30, 2018 Pre-K/Kindergarten Orientation.  We will scan your ID through the Raptor system. This will allow us to print a visitor's pass in preparation for your visit on the first two days of school.

All parents are able to stop by the main office Friday, August 24 through Thursday, August 30, between 7:30 am and 1:00 pm to have their IDs scanned so that visitors' passes can be pre-printed for the first two days of school only.

On the first two days of school:

    • Students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 will meet in the gymnasium with their classroom teachers at 7:25 am.

    • Students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 will meet their classroom teachers on the playground beginning at 7:25 am.

Grades 2 – 5 parents may leave their child with the classroom teacher at that time; if those parents are interested in going in to the school building, they must go to the main office to have a pass printed.

Beginning on the third dayof school (Sept. 6), we will begin to follow regular entry procedures, the same as last school year:

    • Students arriving at 7:25 am will gather in the gym.

    • Students arriving after 7:30 am will walk directly to their classrooms.

    • Students whose classrooms are in the temporaries will report directly to the temps.

    • Students arriving after 8:00 am will report with their parent to the office for a late pass.

    • Car riders will exit vehicles in the alley and enter the school through the gym doors.

*We needed to make adjustments therefore welcome back letters with teacher assignments will be mailed Friday.
