Professional School Counselors align with the school’s mission to support the academic achievement of all students as they prepare for the ever changing world of the 21st century.   School Counselors are professional educators with a mental health perspective who understand and respond to the challenges presented to children.  As integral members of the educational team, counselors support students in making positive life choices and becoming responsible and caring adults.

Every day, thousands of students set sail to discover who they are, where they are going, and what difference they will make in the world.  Counselors guide students on the voyage toward self-discovery through the uncertain waters of social, emotional and academic challenges.  We are committed to providing a safe harbor in which students can explore their potential and discover their unique capabilities.  School Counselors:

    • Children develop decision making and problems solving skills.
    • Children develop a better understanding and acceptance of themselves.
    • Children with career awareness, exploration, and planning.
    • Children develop socially and emotionally.
    • Children cope with family changes.
    • Parents understand their children’s emotions, behaviors, and learning styles.
    • Parents and teachers create a positive learning environment.
