• Orienteering Challenge

The Orienteering Challenge is an exhilarating blend of environmental concepts and classroom content set to the theme of Captain John Smith’s exploration of the Chesapeake Bay.  Students are given the unique opportunity to apply knowledge taught in the classroom in an authentic experience that takes place in the natural environment.  After completing the module, students will have a greater understanding of Maryland’s natural resources and historical significance of the region and its people.  Key concepts covered in this module included mathematics, measurement, word problems, decoding, environmental science, and the use of the compass.
