EAGLE NEWS!!!

January 6, 2016

Message from Ms. Davis

Welcome back!  I hope that you enjoyed your vacation with family and friends.  Now that we have returned, there are many exciting events occurring here at UPES.  I’ve included the timelines for the Science Fair and Write-A-Book activities in the newsletter as a reminder for participating families.  If you have questions regarding the Science Fair, please contact your child’s teacher or Ms. Rowland as she is the chairperson.  All students in grades 4-6 are required to complete a Science Fair project and should be well on their way to completing their projects.   Ms. Waugh, Media Specialist is the contact for Write-A-Book.    If there is anything you need between now and then, do not hesitate to contact me. The next newsletter will be coming home on Wednesday, January 20th.

PARCC Scores

Students in grades 4-6 received the PARCC Home Reports in the December 16th Wednesday Folder.  Parents are enouraged to utilize the website http://understandthescore.org to aid their understanding of what the scores mean for your child(ren).  I also encourage parents to attend the January 13th PTA Meeting as a representative from the Testing Office will be available to answer questions and provide an overview of the scores.

You may contact the school or your child's teacher for specific days and times.

Ways to Support Our School

You can support our school by shopping at your favorite stores.  Target’s Take Charge of Education Program and Giant Food’s A+ Bonus Bucks will give a portion of what you spend back to our school.  All you have to do is register your card online or at the store and designate University Park as the recipient school.
