Principal’s Corner: I decided to send out one more newsletter to keep you up to date with the latest news!  Last week, we met with the architects who will be remodeling the pods into individual classrooms.  There may be changes to the timeline in finishing the renovations, and there is a possibility of needing temporary classrooms next year.  As soon as I hear any specific information, I will let you know.

Congratulations to our choir and instrumental students!  On Friday, they went to Hershey, Pennsylvania to compete in the “Music in the Parks” Festival and competition.  Our instrumental students won first place!  Our choir then competed against three other elementary schools, and won second place, which is excellent!  Our chamber choir competed in a middle school division this year, and took first place!  I am so proud of all of them – way to go!!  Many thanks to Mr. Spitzberg, Mr. Fominaya, and all of the parents and staff who chaperoned on the trip!

Many thanks to Dana Campbell and Kris Moss for all of their help this year with the Write A Book Contest!  The Young Author’s Tea was a lovely way to celebrate our students’ hard work on their books this year, and I appreciate Dana and Kris’ support!!

Many thanks to all of the parents who came to volunteer for our Field Days!  The kids had a total blast, and we appreciate you taking the time to come in to help!

Yearbooks are still for sale – it’s not too late!  Pick one up at the office for only $17.00!

The PTA is sponsoring a School Supply Sale for the Fall – check out the flyer in this Wednesday Envelope!

Congrats to Vivian Tran, who was mentioned in the PGCPS Spotlight as a top performing student in First In Math!

The PGCPS Mathematics Department proudly recognizes the accomplishments of the following students, teams and schools for their outstanding performance and achievement with “First in Math,” an online program provided this year to students in third through eighth grades.  The program offers comprehensive content—ranging from single-step addition to complex algebra—in an engaging format. Students progress at their own pace to master basic and advanced math skills, accumulating points/stickers along the way.
