the PTA for providing the speakers with coffee and breakfast that day!
Teacher Appreciation Week was
fantastic! Thank you so much for your wonderful flowers,
chocolate, school supplies, and awards for the staff! I also wanted to thank our fantastic PTA, who treated the
staff to homemade goodies, raffle baskets, K cups for coffee, a delicious Cinco
de Mayo lunch, and gift cards to Target!
You all really made each one of us feel appreciated! Many thanks to the PTA Committee –

Thursday, May 19th at 7 p.m.; Friday, May 20th at 8 p.m.,
and on Saturday, May 21st at 7 p.m.! Information on buying tickets is included in this Wednesday
Envelope, and tickets will be on sale at May Fair. Many thanks to all of the volunteers who came to school this
past Saturday to build the set and props!
We couldn’t have done it
without you!
Many thanks to the PTA for the fantastic
Open House on April 29th!
Many people attended, and we heard many compliments about our students, staff,
academic program and PTA from the visitors! I appreciate Becky Widman for
all of her hard work chairing the event, and to the Newcomers Committee for
their commitment in showcasing our wonderful school and welcoming others to our
community! Many thanks to Becky Widman, Dana Campbell, Suzie Whelton, Katherin
Herberholz, Imke Ahlf-Wein, Maby Palmisano, and Mary Durkin!
Mark
your calendars for the PTA’s May Fair on Saturday, May 14th! Bring your family and enjoy a fun day
of great food, games, contests, and music from a DJ! May Fair will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The PTA is always looking for parents
who are willing to volunteer; please contact Maby Palmisano (mabyp2002@yahoo.com), Sheilla Salicrup (sheillasalicrup@yahoo.com), or
Steve Benson (steven.benson@navy.mil)! Thank you!
I
hope you will join us for the Choir/ UP Singers/ Instrumental Music Concert
on Wednesday, May 25th at 7 p.m. at Northwestern High School! The students have been practicing hard
and are excited to perform!
Sixth grade parents, since your children are in a transitioning grade
(going to middle school,) you are required to bring proof of residence and two
utility bills to our office, if you haven’t done so already. Thank you!
Now that the weather is getting warmer, I
wanted to remind everyone that we do have a school system dress code. Shirts should be continuous from neckline to
waist; the entire mid-section should be covered. Skirts, dresses, and
shorts should be no shorter than fingertip level. Pants should cover
undergarments. Thank you!
