Principal’s Corner: Our 3rd – 6th
graders will be taking the Reading and Math Maryland School Assessments (MSA)
on March 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.
It is imperative that your children
be in school on time with a big, healthy breakfast to start their day on these
dates. We appreciate your support.
Our teachers are determined that our students will be prepared and will do an
outstanding job! With your help,
UPES will shine!
Since MSA is right around the corner, we’ll be
having an MSA Spirit Week for the whole school next week! On each day, we’ll be wearing
something special:
Monday, February
28th – Sneak up on
the MSA! (Wear your sneakers!)
Tuesday, March 1st – Dress for Success!
(Dress up day!)
Wednesday, March
2nd – Hats Off to
the MSA (Wear a hat!) Also Read

Thursday, March 3rd

to get our students pumped for the test!

Club is March 1st, and the last
day for the MSA Club is March 7th.
Congratulations to our Science Bowl

Stewart, and Charlie Dawson!
Destination ImagiNation is an
exhilarating after-school activity in which students work in teams to solve
mind-bending challenges and present their solutions at tournaments.
University Park has a team of 7 girls who will be presenting the solution
to the Mythology Mission challenge. They will be performing at Flowers High
School on March 5 at 3PM. Come support the University Park Blue
Goddesses, Rory, Jade, Keyla, Emily, Miranda, Anna, and Madeleine and watch
their improvisational skit about a
mission involving a Mythical Creature.
They will solve an unexpected problem that is discovered on stage.
The PTA's Wine and Cheese Silent Auction is
going to take place this Saturday, Feb. 26th at Wallace Memorial Presbyterian
Church on Metzerott Road from 4 - 6 p.m. This is one of their major
fundraisers, and just about every penny comes back to the school! They need everyone's help to keep
funding art, the library, and after school enrichment at UPES! Don’t miss
this awesome event!
