Prince George's County Public Schools has a fleet of approximately 1,250 buses, transports more than 80,000 students to and from school each day, and oversees 5,000 bus routes through urban, suburban and rural neighborhoods. Buses also provide transportation services for homeless students, students with disabilities, student athletes and performers, and school field trips.
The safety of students is our primary concern, and we appreciate your help as parents and community members in promoting safety both on and off the bus.

Transportation Update
The Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) Transportation Department is working hard to streamline processes, reduce transportation costs and improve safety and overall services.
At the recommendation of the Transportation Task Force, we have made the following changes for the 2012-2013 school year that will redirect $5 million back to the classroom:
- Set the maximum walking distance from home to bus stop to one-half mile
- Adjusted walk zones at approximately 24 schools
- Combined middle and high school students on some bus routes
Also, bell times have changes at all of our middle schools to accommodate 40 extra minutes of instruction each day. Please click here for a complete list of bell times for all our schools. View Frequently Asked Questions.
