| The Comprehension Toolkit Lab School project is used to enable intermediate teachers in grades 3-5 to teach children how to use comprehension strategies while they read to increase their comprehension of all text. Comprehension Toolkit Lab has been implemented successful in twenty Title I schools. This current year, grade 6 has been added for implementation of this project. Ongoing professional development will continue with workshops through demonstration lessons and coaching on how to teach the strategies, and analysis of student work in collaboration with classroom teachers, Reading Specialists, and Zone Achievement Coaches. A Curriculum Framework Extension has been established to help classroom teachers with implementation. |
