Dear Thurgood Marshall Family:
I am thrilled to serve as the new Principal of Thurgood Marshall Middle School. With 31 years of teaching and educational leadership experience in Prince George's County Public Schools, it is a privilege to lead this extraordinary learning community during a time of incredible change and tremendous possibilities. Our challenge is to embrace the future of our students and ensure that they are properly prepared to become leaders in this exciting new world.
As I make this transition to Thurgood Marshall Middle School, I am aware of the anticipation and eagerness that accompanies new leadership in any organization. Understanding that change can provoke both excitement and anxiety, TMMS will work diligently with parents and the community to foster a friendly learning environment that promotes student-centered decisions, academic excellence, excellent communications, community involvement, trust, respect, and recognition of student achievement.
Believing that tomorrow's leaders are today's young people, I pledge my commitment to our students, staff, parents and TMMS community that together we will strive to make a difference. By finding our strength in a shared determination, to inspire our students, we will ignite their passion and challenge them to follow their dreams. Supporting our kids to do well at school, and in their lives, is the center of our work.
It is my honor to have been selected to serve this community. I will work hard to gain your trust and respect, as Thurgood Marshall's Principal. I look forward to a year of academic success, student achievement, and school highlights.
