2013-14 TJMS Yearbook Orders are now being accepted!!
Parents and Scholars: The 2013-14 TJMS Yearbook is now available for purchase. Scholars voted for their top cover choice during lunch and the winning cover was "Live Out Loud!" (Pictured above). This school years yearbook features a hard cover (front and back), 56 page full color yearbook with optional bundle items to purchase in addition to the yearbook only. Yearbooks are on sale for $25. Please see the sales flyer that will be going home with your scholar for more information. Orders will be taken at TJMS through April 10th by cash or money order.
Parents may also order online at: ybpay.lifetouch.com. The job number for TJMS is: 12074614. There is no additional charge for this option.

TJMS mourns the loss of 7th Grade Reading Teacher, Mr. Dudash
It is with our deepest sorrows that we have to inform you of the loss of a great colleague and educator, Mr. John Dudash. A letter was sent home with scholars Tuesday afternoon informing parents of the loss and ways that you can support your child through challenging events in life such as the passing of a loved one. MSA Testing Begins March 4th at TJMS!
Maryland State Assessments will begin Tuesday, March 4th at TJMS. It is VERY IMPORTANT all scholars are at school ON-TIME so testing can be completed without disruption. Thank you for your assistance with preparing your children for the test by having them get a good nights sleep and eating a healthy breakfast before coming to school.

AVID Parent Workshops
The AVID program would like to welcome all parents, scholars, and community members to attend the free workshops being held in the Media Center at Thomas Johnson Middle School.
The dates of the upcoming workshops are: March 19th, April 30th, and May 21st. All workshops will begin at 5:30pm.

Their 3rd Annual G.E.L Summit Entitled, “HEALTH TEENS: DREAM WITHOUT
The Girls’ Empowerment Leadership Summit (GEL) was created in
order to promote young women’s empowerment. The GEL Summit is highly
successful in contributing toward developing self-esteem, confidence,
self-definition, and leadership skills as well as social consciousness
and commitment to citizenship in the participants. This annual half-day
program is open to young ladies between the ages of 11-18.
SGA Anti-Bullying Campaign held at TJMS
The Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored by Ms. Wing held an Anti-Bullying campaign at TJMS during the week of 11/18 - 11/22. The response and activities throughout the event have been terrific! A video was created by the SGA and scholars from TJMS that we wanted to share with the community. TJMS Scholars attend College Enrichment Day at Prince Georges Community College
A group of Thomas Johnson Middle School 8th grade scholars were selected to participate in a pilot program at the Academy of Health Sciences @ PGCC. Scholars had the opportunity to participate in College Enrichment Day on October 29th held at Prince George's Community College. There will be ongoing activities they will participate in through out the school year. We are proud of our scholars and their hard work!!
