PGCPS has selected Monday, August 25th, as a system-wide orientation day for students who are entering 6th grade or will be enrolled in Thomas Johnson Middle School for the first time as a 7th or 8th grade scholar. Orientation will be held from 9:00am - 3:40pm.
New students attending TJMS orientation will ride to and from school on their assigned bus number at the pick-up time or walk to school depending on what information was sent to you from the transportation department. Students must attend orientation in the uniform dress code explained below. Please review this dress code as changes have occurred to all grade levels! Returning 7th and 8th graders DO NOT ATTEND since it is designed specifically for new students entering TJMS only.

All students are expected to be in compliance starting August 25th (Orientation Day for 6th grade) throughout the remainder of the school term. First Student Day of School: Tuesday, August 26th, 2014
All students in PGCPS will begin school on August 26th, 2014. Thomas Johnson Middle School hours will be 9:00 - 3:40. Students will be receiving their bus pick-up times before school starts, along with information on their class schedule and homeroom assignments. Please be sure to read the information posted above to help your child be prepared for the first day of school!
Summer Work Schedule at Thomas Johnson Middle School
Please be advised that Thomas Johnson will only be open Monday - Thursday throughout the summer (unless a Holiday occurs throughout the scheduled work week). If you need to come to the building to see an office or administrative team member, please call ahead to ensure they will be in the building and able to assist you before coming to the school.

SGA Anti-Bullying Campaign held at TJMS
The Student Government Association (SGA) sponsored by Ms. Wing held an Anti-Bullying campaign at TJMS during the week of 11/18 - 11/22. The response and activities throughout the event have been terrific! A video was created by the SGA and scholars from TJMS that we wanted to share with the community.
