GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Enter the media center quietly and orderly.
  • Be prepared to work.
  • Follow teacher direction the first time given.
  • No food or drinks allowed.
  • Be respectful to others and the property of others.
  • Use appropriate language (No Profanity).
  • Leave the Media Center neat.
  • Depart when permitted.
  • Push chairs under the tables.
  • Rules must be obeyed or library privileges will be taken away.

PASS POLICY

  • Passes are required to enter the media center whenever you are not with a class.
  • The pass must be signed by a teacher and it must state the purpose for your visit.
  • Students must show their pass then sign in at the circulation desk.
  • Teachers may send individual students or small groups (3) with prior notification and confirmation from school librarian.
  • Substitutes may not send students or bring classes to the media center.

CLASS SCHEDULING POLICY

  • Teachers may sign up to bring classes to the media center.
  • Media center is scheduled on a first come first serve basis.
  • The media center can only accommodate one class per mod.
  • Classes should be scheduled preferably a week in advance.
  • Inform school librarian if any accommodations are necessary.
  • Teachers must accompany and monitor their class closely.

CIRCULATION POLICY

  • Book check out limit - 2 at a time
  • Books (fictiona/nonfiction) - 2 weeks
  • Reference books - overnight
  • College catalogs - overnight
  • Newspapers/magazines - media center use only
  • Video tapes - 1 week

RENEWAL POLICY

  • If the materials are not overdue and not on hold for another student.
  • Books maybe renewed twice.

EQUIPMENT POLICY

  • Equipment is issued to staff and faculty at the beginning of the year and on an as need basis.  Equipment is not to be removed from the media center without being properly signed out.
  • At the end of the year all equipment must be returned to the media center. Please put your name and room number on a 3 x 5 index card and attach it to the equipment.
  • Broken equipment should be sent to the media center with a completed Repair Request Form.  The equipment will be returned as soon as it is repaired.  A replacement maybe issued dependent upon availablity. 
  • Overhead bulbs, overhead film rolls, and transparency sheets are available in the media center.

COMPUTER POLICY

  • The computer at the circulation desk is for librarian use ONLY.
  • There are 2 computer stations directly behind circulation desk for teacher use ONLY.
  • There are 30 computer stations for student use.
  • Must have username and password to log on.
  • Computers are used for educational use ONLY.
  • Users are NOT allowed to access chat room discussions, check e-mail, play games, or use internet for personal use.
  • NO printing without permission.
