     Earn Community Service Hours by participating in the Capitol Heights Earth Day clean up on Saturday, April 5.  Volunteers will meet at Tunic Park (corner of Old Central and Tunic Ave) from 8am - 11am.  Register online at www.anacostiaws.org/earthday2014 and remember to bring a service hour form with you!
 

 We need your donations!!!!  Please take a moment to help to save the life of someone fighting the battle against leukemia and other blood cancers.  Make a tax deductible donation by clicking on the penny.  All donations to Pennies for Patients must be made by June 1.  On behalf of LLS, cancer survivors and the families of those who lost the fight - THANK YOU!

Congratulations to ALFRED DUDLEY, III for winning the Reginald F. Lewis Museum 2014 Juried Art Competition.  He will be honored at the Maryland State Teachers' Association (MSEA) Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast & Minority Affairs Recognition Awards Program on Saturday, January 18.

Prince George's County Police Officers will be issuing tickets to those parents who make an illegal U-turn by the auditorium in the morning.  The entrance is a one-way street and we must protect the safety of our students.  Please drop off your students in the back of the building by the cafeteria daily for everyone's safety.

NEW UNIFORM POLICY

Remember students are only allowed to wear TAN bottoms!!! (Think Target employee). No jeans, jeggings or leggings are to be worn.  Skirts and shorts must be fingertip length. Freshmen must wear white polos all other grades may wear black or red polo shirts  - the only acceptable logo is the Suitland logo. Belts are to be black or brown.  Pants should not "sag" below the waistline. Students are not allowed to wear open toe or open heel shoes at any time.
