Retire/Rehire Pay Eligibility
- To obtain the retire/rehire substitute teacher pay rate of $150/day, you must present a valid teaching certificate.
- The retire/rehire substitute teacher pay rate is reserved exclusively for PGCPS retired educators.
- Should your certificate need renewal, you must submit your renewal requirements directly to Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) at www.mdcert.org or 1-866-772-8922. MSDE will evaluate your credentials to inform you of what requirements need to be completed in order to renew your certificate.
