The K-12 Special Education Program supports the provision of specialized instruction for students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. The Program ensures that students with disabilities have the same opportunity as their non-disabled age peers to participate and progress in the general education curriculum, to the extent appropriate.  The K-12 Special Education Program works collaboratively with the Division of Curriculum and Instruction (K-12), the Office of Professional Development and other school district departments to support the appropriate implementation of instructional programs for students with disabilities in comprehensive schools.
