Eleventh Grade
World History
This course surveys history from the Age of the Renaissance (with a brief review of the Middle Ages) to the Independence of Colonies and the contemporary issues these newly independent nations face. The course is formatted chronologically to explore reoccurring themes in history that shaped the patterns of human interaction throughout the Modern World. These significant themes help students understand that there are similar obstacles and goals in humans striving for their own prosperity and the prosperity of the world around them. These themes are interwoven throughout the chronology of history and are as follows: Power and Authority, Revolution, Interaction with Environment, Economics, Cultural Interaction, Empire Building and Science and Technology.
