Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year! We look forward to partnering with you in order to ensure that your child receives a high quality education. The Rosaryville Elementary School staff is recharged, energized and excited to welcome back all students. Please review the following announcements in preparation for the first day of school.

School Vision- Please join us in supporting our school vision: The Rosaryville Elementary School vision is to build a community of excellence where 100% of  Rosaryville Elementary School students exceed proficiency standards while gaining the knowledge, skills, and character traits that will lead to college readiness, life-long learning and civic engagement.

Pre-K Orientation: If you live in the Rosaryville Boundary, Pre-K Orientation will take place on August 21st at 1:00pm. If you live in the Melwood Boundary, Pre-K Orientation will take place on August 21st at 2:00pm. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Kindergarten Orientation: Kindergarten Orientation will take place on August 21st at 1:00pm. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend.

Exciting Changes: We are excited to announce that Rosaryville Elementary School is now a World Language School. Students in grades K-5 will receive Spanish Instruction during the school day. Please visit our website for additional information.

Family Portal:PGCPS is instituting a new way for parents to register for the Family Portal. Family Portal is an online system that allows parents to monitor student grades. Parents will now be able to create and reset their own password through the use of a personal email account. Please visit our website for step by step directions. Family Portal will be available after August 12th.

Back to School Night:

We will hold Back to School Night for PreK- 2nd grades on September 9th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. We will hold Back to School Night for 3rd-6th grades on September 10th from 6:00pm-8:00pm.

Class Lists: Teacher assignments will be available in Family Portal after August 12th. Class lists will be posted in the main hallway beginning August 19th.

 Transportation: Bus arrival and departure times will be sent to parents from the PGCPS Department of Transportation. If you have questions regarding transportation, please contact their office at (301) 952-6570.

Supply List: The 2014-2015 supply list is available on our school website and is also available for pick up in the main office.

Uniform Policy: The 2014-2015 uniform policy is available on our school website and is available for pick up in the main office. Please review for updates.
