Our Mission
The mission of the Robert Goddard Montessori family is to provide an environment that will inspire children to thirst for knowledge and that will give them the tools, socially and academically, to build a solid foundation as they prepare for productive futures.
"Education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is not acquired by listening to words, but by experiences upon the environment." Dr. Maria Montessori
The Montessori Program
For nearly one hundred years, children throughout the world have been educated with the Montessori method. This method is based on the observation that children are naturally motivated to learn. Just as an infant learns to walk and talk, so too can children naturally learn to read, write, and do mathematical calculations. Montessori classrooms are filled with self-teaching materials. From their daily experiences with these materials, children "learn how to learn" and develop high levels of self-esteem, self-confidence, and competence.
In the Montessori program, children receive an education addressing all aspects of development: intellectual, emotional, social and physical. Critical thinking and cooperative learning are part of every lesson. An atmosphere of respect and dignity is found as each child receives an individualized approach to instruction.
