Community-Based Classroom Serves a maximum of 150 students. The typical candidate for CBC is a recent high school dropout who is no more than 10 credits away from graduation and needs a more flexible schedule to accommodate daycare arrangements, work schedules, or other issues that interfere with their academic success.
Students range in age from 16 to 21 years. CBC encourages students to become life-long learners by offering diverse courses, and providing small class sizes, flexible schedules, supportive staff, and real world experiences. CBC does not provide a lunch program nor transportation service. Upon successful completion, the students will exit with a Maryland High School diploma. Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED, and find and keep a good job. For eligible young people at least 16 years of age that qualify as low income, Job Corps provides the all-around skills needed to succeed in a career and in life.

GED Program at Prince George’s Community College
The Adult Education Program offers GED preparation and Basic Reading and Math classes. Enrollment is based on the results of placement tests; learners are placed in the appropriate class for their level.
Basic Reading and Math classes are for adults who need basic instruction in reading, writing and math. Math 1, 2, and 3 and Reading 1, 2, and 3 classes are for adults who need more practice in reading, writing and math skills as they prepare to transition to GED-level classes.
GED-level classes are for adults who are preparing to take the GED Tests and need to review their skills. Classes focus on writing, math problem solving, and test-taking skills. Evening School
Evening High School is located at two school sites within Prince George’s County Public School System, Crossland High School and Northwestern High School. The School operates Monday through Thursday evenings from 5:30 PM until 10:00 PM. Although Evening High School does not specialize (i.e., biotechnology, humanities, science and technology, etc.) the School offers a multiplicity of credit courses needed to meet Maryland State High School requirements. This program goal is achieved through concurrent enrollment, which allows students to attend their base (day) School and evening high School. The School also accepts students who are not enrolled in day high School but are in pursuit of a high School diploma.
ACCESS Online
A.C.C.E.S.S. Online is available for students in need of credit recovery. Students interested in this blended learning program are those who need a limited number of credits in order to earn their diploma or need a flexible alternative to the standard high school schedule and have a desire to use technology to meet their high school graduation goals.
Students must be willing to attend the onsite lab at least two hours per week. Ideally students will have reliable access to the Internet (home, relative’s home or community source). At this time most of the curriculum is not available on smartphones. Along with self-discipline, successful A.C.C.E.S.S Online students are self-disciplined and able to advocate for themselves.
Staff at the A.C.C.E.S.S. Online program provide face to face support, encouragement and mentoring to academically fragile students.

Vocational High Schools
Tall Oaks serves as an alternative high school for students in grades 11-12. The school focuses on students with both academic and relational supports to foster a positive learning environment. Students must be least 16 years of age to attend this educational option. An interview and completion of an application are required prior to enrollment. Tall Oaks l is located at 2112 Church Road, Bowie , Maryland 20721. The school hours are from 9:30-4:10. For additional information call 301-390-0230. Croom serves as an alternative vocational high school. Croom offers a college preparatory, career and technical educational program to approximately 100 students in grades 11-12. Students must be at least 16 years of age to enroll. An interview and completion of an application are also required prior to enrollment.
