The National Enlightenment Walk for Education Reform in America (NEW ERA) is the first-ever walk for education reform. Its purpose is to encourage and celebrate a new era in American education by raising awareness and creating a sense of urgency for change. The event, which kicks off American Education Week, Nov. 13 – 19, is scheduled to take place on November 12, 2011 on the historic grounds of the National Mall. The NEW ERA will be led primarily by students, educators and supporters, and there will be a ceremony and pep rally events too. |
