FY17 Tuition Reimbursement

We are pleased to announce tuition reimbursement is available for members of the following bargaining units based on the negotiated agreement.  Reimbursements will be processed on a first come, first serve basis until all funds are depleted. 


ACE/AFSCME, Local 2250, AFL-CIO (Local 2250)

Pursuant to the FY17 provisions of the 2015-2018 Negotiated Contract between ACE/AFSCME, Local 2250, AFL-CIO and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County, all current employees in Local 2250 will be eligible for tuition reimbursement.

  • Local 2250 has negotiated up to $411.00 per eligible credit for courses successfully completed and awarded in FY17, from July 1, 2016 to                 June 30, 2017.
  • Tuition reimbursement is available for the full cost of books for approved job-related courses successfully completed and awarded in FY17, from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.

Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (ASASP) Unit II

Pursuant to the FY17 provisions of the 2013-2016 Negotiated Agreement between the Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (Unit II) and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County, all current employees in ASASP II will be eligible for tuition reimbursement. 

  • ASASP II has negotiated up to $411.00 per eligible credit for courses successfully completed and awarded in FY17, from July 1, 2016 to                 June 30, 2017.  
  • Tuition reimbursement for the School Leaders Licensure Assessment (SLLA) is capped at the amount of $475.00 for FY17, upon submission of verification of successful completion.

Association of Supervisory and Administrative Personnel (ASASP) Unit III

Pursuant to the FY17 provisions of the 2013-2016 Negotiated Agreement between the Association of Supervisory and Administrative School Personnel (Unit III) and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County, all current employees in ASASP III will be eligible for tuition reimbursement. 

  • ASASP III has negotiated up to $411.00 per eligible credit for courses successfully completed and awarded in FY17, from July 1, 2016 to   June 30, 2017.

Prince George’s County Educators’ Association (PGCEA)

Pursuant to the FY17 provisions of the 2013-2015 Negotiated Agreement between Prince George’s County Educators’ Association and the Board of Education of Prince George’s County, all current PGCEA Unit I employees will be eligible for tuition reimbursement.

  • PGCEA has negotiated up to $411 per eligible credit, up to 12 credits, for courses successfully completed and awarded in FY17, from July 1, 2016 to     June 30, 2017.
  • Eligible unit members include educators on both regular contracts and provisional contracts.

Tuition reimbursement for Service Employees International Union Local 400 Prince George’s County CTW-CLC (SEIU Local 400) was not negotiated for FY17. Please contact SEIU Local 400 at 301-403-0271 or email at seiulocal400pg@gmail.com with questions about tuition reimbursement provisions for FY17.

The tuition reimbursement process includes a tuition reimbursement cover sheet.  The tuition reimbursement cover sheet is accessible through the Tuition Reimbursement Google site.  All tuition reimbursement information as well as detailed information on the submission process can be found on the TuitionReimbursement Google site.

 

Human Resources Operations and Staffing-Office of Certification will begin accepting tuition reimbursement requests on December 12, 2016.  In preparation for submission, you may wish to secure the following required documentation:

  1. Official transcripts
  2. Proof of payment for each course
