Prince George's County Public Schools
Association of School Business Officials Membership

What is ASBO MD&DC? In case you haven’t heard of us, ASBO is the Association of School Business Officials, Maryland and the District of Columbia, a professional association that is committed to providing affordable and valuable professional development opportunities to school business officials working in the areas of Finance and Administration, Purchasing, Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities and Construction, Pupil Transportation, Food and Nutrition Services, and Safety and Risk Management.  ASBO has over 1,200 members, including 40 from Delaware, representing all eight of these core areas of school business. As a member of ASBO, you receive member discounts to our two annual conferences, workshops, discussion forums, and the Foundations of School Business Management courses (which lead to professional certification). You also receive a daily summary of national education news, the bi-annual ASBO Matters magazine and bimonthly ASBO Connects newsletter, and a membership directory. Of particular importance is the opportunity to meet with your peers in other school systems to share information and solutions to problems, and to learn about operations in other districts.

How do you become a member? It’s very easy. Prince George’s County Public Schools has a membership dues structure this year that allows all School Business Officials to become members at no additional cost to those who join ASBO – your school system has unlimited memberships available. It’s simple - visit asbo.org, click Membership, complete the online Membership application, and click Submit. Don’t forget to indicate your areas of interest. Then let Brenda Allen, your ASBO Liaison (Brenda.Allen@pgcps.org), know that you have become a member. Join the 40 Prince George’s County School Business Officials who already are ASBO members and take advantage of the many professional development opportunities that ASBO MD&DC offers. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Brenda or John Lang, Executive Director, at asbomddc1@gmail.com or 410-608-0911.
