    In collaboration with University of Maryland, Paint Branch Elementary School has created an educational partnership to expand the educational experience of the PBES students. The following are programs and relationships with University of Maryland.

    Confucius Institute at Maryland

    PBES and Confucius Institute of UMD has developed a fraternal relationship/exchange with Nankai University Elementary School. Nankai University Elementary School in Tianjin, China is a sister school of Paint Branch.confucius 
    Established with support from Hanban, also known as the Office of Chinese Language Council International (CLCI), the Confucius Institute at Maryland (CIM) promotes the understanding of China today through the study of Chinese language, culture, ethics, and philosophy.

    Chinese Dragon Team 

    Establish 2015, Chinese Dragon team uses Chinese culture, values, and related arts & crafts to boost student confidence in learning. Through activities, students learn how to work well with others and help each other. 


    Lakeland STARs

    Lakeland STARs is an academic enrichment program that serves 1st - 6th grade children from Paint Branch Elementary School in College Park, Maryland.
    Children in the program are matched one-on-one with a volunteer tutor, and they meet each week on a designated day throughout the semester.
    Lakeland STARs has been part of the Scholars experience since February 1996, and tutoring with the Lakeland STARs program is a rewarding way for College Park Scholars to give back to the community.

    PDS - Professional Development School
    In collaboration with the University of Maryland School of Education, Paint Branch is a Professional Development School (PDS) beginning during the school year of 2009 - 2010. Future teacher candidates intern with experienced teachers in order to practice and expand their teaching methods.
