1 composition notebook for Class Work – to stay in the classroom
- Pencils
- Black and red ink pens
- Crayons/Colored Pencils
- Ruler
- a pack of loose leaf paper
- 5 red folders for Grade 7 & 5 green folders for Grade 8
- eraser
- glue stick
Course Description
Science 7 and 8 follow the Prince George’s County Public School Science Curriculum Framework Progress Guide that is aligned with the Science Voluntary State Curriculum prepared by the Maryland State Department of Education. The Skills and Processes taught in the first quarter are expected to be incorporated throughout the remainder of the year each time students engage in a hands-on, inquiry-based activity. Skills developed in science include the following: constructing knowledge, applying evidence and reasoning, communicating science information and applying technology.
Six modules make up each course.
Science 7 consists of the following modules:
- Nature of Science and Technology
- Human Biology and Health
- Earth’s Changing Surfaces
- Chemical Building Blocks
- Motions, Forces and Energy
- From Bacteria to Plants
Grade 7 students are required to complete a science fair project.
