  • 2015 Kindergarten Promotion Event - A Proud Moment for All
    One hundred twenty (120) parents and guardians filled the cafeteria of Oxon Hill Elementary School on Thursday, June 18, 2015 to celebrate the academic accomplishments of our kindergarten students who are now ready for first grade in August 2015.  It was indeed a Proud Moment for All!
    Students Celebrated for SRI & DRA Test Performance Success
    Students at Oxon Hill Elementary School took seriously the challenge to "Do Their Best" on the county's Spring Language Arts tests for grades K to 2 and the SRI tests for grades 2 - 6.  The positive gains were rewarded, on June 16, 2015 at 2:00 pm, with Pizza and/or Ice-Cream Sundae parties.  Umm... Finger-licking good!!  
    Field Day 2015 - A SPLASH of Fitness, Fun and Food
    Oxon Hill Elementary school held its annual, all day, Field Day of Fitness, Fun and Food on Thursday, June 11, 2015!
    Hoops for Dad - SLAM DUNK Fun for All
    Dads, Granddads, Uncles, Big brothers, and even mothers began crowding the lobby before time to meet their children and prepare for this long awaited and annual event - Hoops for Dad.

    Over 272 Mothers, Grandmothers, and Significant others along with their children swelled the gymnasium of Oxon Hill Elementary School on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm.

      May 4 - 8, 2015 is Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week. Principal Best-Goring and a hard-working core of three staff members collaboratively planned and executed a week of appreciation activities!

    An enthusiastic crowd of over 222 parents, students, teachers and vendors attended and participated in our annual Health Extravaganza family night event on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 6:30 pm.  
    Career Day Inspired Students to Become College and Career Ready
    Career Day at Oxon Hill Elementary School occurred all day on Friday, April 17, 2015.  Over forty presenters from an impressive variety of careers held our students captivated by the endless opportunities available for them to seize.
    Full House for Multicultural Night Event at Oxon Hill ES
    Over 344 families and staff packed the gymnasium for our annual, Multicultural Night "Dancing with the Students" event at Oxon Hill Elementary School. 
    STEM Fair Project Production - Annual Showcase Event for Oxon Hill ES' Student Engineers
    Preparation for this event began in November 2014 during our STEM Fair Project Preparation Family, Hands-On and Minds-on Activity night.
    Budget Parent Family Night Informed and Inspired to Action
    An impressive gathering of parents, children and teachers crowded the Media Center at Oxon Hill Elementary School on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 for the Budget Parent/Family Night event.  
    Mr. Eric Hall, Our Outstanding Father, Celebrated at PGCPS Fathers' Forum Annual Event
    Oxon Hill Elementary School was proud to have Mr. Eric Hall celebrated as our "Outstanding Father" during PGCPS' now annual Outstanding Fathers' Celebration and Forum on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.  
    Principal's Honor Roll Celebration - Academic Pride at Zenith Point Excellence
    Thirteen students, representing grades 2 - 5, were celebrated on Thursday, January 29, 2015 for making straight  "A's" in all content areas for Quarter I.
    Commit to Be Fit Family Night: A Huge Success for Healthier Living
    Parents, students, teachers and staff celebrated fitness as one huge family at our Commit to Be Fit Night held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Activities included:  Climbing Wall, Relay Activities, Line Dancing, Xbox Kinect Activities, Jump Rope, Zumba, Scooter Races, Crazy Cones Technology Station and more. 
    Two Different Events Joined Hands with One Purpose: STEM Fair Project Preparation Activity and American Education Week Family Night. Wow!!
     It was Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7:00 pm.  One hundred and sixteen parents and students participated in celebrating American Education Week and then engaging in hands-on, minds-on STEM Fair Project activities.
    Hispanic Night Heritage Extravaganza - A Celebration to Remember
    Two hundred forty-five (245) parents and children participated in this excitedly anticipated celebration of Hispanic Heritage, family night event that occurred on Thursday, October 23, 2014. 
    Annual Book Character Parade - A Human Collage of Favorite Book Characters in Costume
    Oxon Hill Elementary School's Annual Book Character Parade occurred on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the gymnasium.  Students of all grades as well as staff members dressed in costume as their favorite book character and had their book in hand as they paraded down the hallways to the gym and around the perimeter of the gym once inside. 
    Parents Gave Attentive Ear to Oxon Hill's PBIS and Student Attendance Family Night
    Oxon Hill Elementary School held its annual PBIS/Student Attendance family night on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 7:00 pm. Over eighty (80) parents and students swelled the attendance for this very informative night.  
    Back-to-School Night at Oxon Hill ES: A Huge Success
    Over 238 parents and students attended our school's Back-to-School night on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 7:00 pm!

    Maryland Meals for Student Achievement

    Oxon Hill ES has been awarded the Maryland Meals for Student Achievement Program.
    Effective January 7, 2015, all of our students, regardless of parent income, will receive a free breakfast in their classrooms, each instructional day. Filled stomachs increase student achievement.
