Paraprofessional Praxis Exam Preparation Class Requirements
The exam preparation classes have been developed to help individuals prepare for the paraprofessional praxis exam. The classes review mathematics, reading comprehension and grammar but will not provide skill development. A pre-assessment is administered before classes begin, to assess the employee’s readiness for the exam. If the employee does not pass the assessment they will not be able to register for the preparation classes. Additional skill development classes will be provided to prepare the individual for the preparation class and exam. At this time we will only be accepting PGCPS full time paraprofessionals for the preperation classes and exam.
If you are not a PGCPS full time paraprofessional you need to contact Educational Testing Services (ETS) at 1-800-772-9476 or www.ets.org for preparation materials and to register for to take the exam.
Classes will be held for five-weeks with two sessions occurring per week (10 sessions total). Priority placement in the classes and the exam is given to persons in schools that have submitted Improvement Plans to the State of Maryland and Title I Schools. Participants are expected to attend all ten sessions, if they miss more than two sessions they will be dropped from the class and will not be able to sit for the exam.
The preparation classes are offered to PGCPS full time Paraprofessionals and are free of charge.
