Tuition Reimbursement
The Office of Organizational Effectiveness processes tuition reimbursement for all certified teachers and support staff. Tuition will be reimbursed at the rate designated by your union for job-related coursework that will enhance the skills and performance of the unit employee. Tuition reimbursement is provided on a first come first serve basis, each union has a specific amount allocated on a yearly basis. Permanent, benefit eligible employees can participate in this program.
What Is Eligible For Reimbursement?
- Classes completed after September 2008 for contract year 2009-2010
- If you are a permanent employee (eligible for benefits), you are eligible for participation in this program.
- Reimbursement will be issued for college credit courses, school leadership licenser exam (ASASP Unit II members only), and certification programs.
- Only expenses incurred by an employee for continuing education through a regionally accredited program will be reimbursed.
- Tuition and book expenses (if applicable) paid by the employee using their personal finances or student loans will be reimbursed; however, expenses paid using grants will not be reimbursed.
- The cost of registration, enrollment, application fees, lab fees, library fees, and materials will not be reimbursed.
- You must secure a passing grade of “C” or better or obtain a certification to receive any reimbursement.

What Will You Need?
1. Tuition Reimbursement form completed and signed by your supervisor/principal
2. Proof of Payment (e.g. copy of check, credit card statement, bank statement, student loan statement or zero balance school statement).
3. A copy of your grade (unofficial transcripts are acceptable)

Processing Procedure:
You will receive a copy of your reimbursement form signed by the Director of Organizational Effectiveness that verifies your reimbursement is being processed. It should take 4 - 6 weeks from the date of approval on the form for you to receive your reimbursement check. Reimbursement checks are sent in the mail to your home address, they are not included in your bi-weekly paycheck.
