ARE YOU READY TO REGISTER

 

 

WHO MAY REGISTER A STUDENT

Only a parent or court-appointed guardian may register a student in PGCPS.  If a student is residing with anyone else; they must pay tuition to attend school, obtain legal court-appointed guardian ship, or apply for tuition wavier.  For additional information, call the Department of Pupil Accounting and School Boundaries at 301-952-6302.

INFORMATION NEEDED TO REGISTER A CHILD:

  • withdrawal/transfer card from pervious school
  • birth certificate (must include the name of the parent registering the child)
  • shot records (4DTP, 3 Polio, 3 Hepatitis B, 2 MMR’s and 1 varicella)
  • social security card (optional)
  • last report card
  • picture ID of the parent registering the child
  • lease, deed, settlement papers, monthly mortgage statement, tax bill  (must have parent or guardian name listed)

 NOTARIZED STATEMENT:

Some families may not have a house or apartment of their own, but may live with a relative or friend, therefore, a notarized statement signed by both parties detailing the living arrangement may be used as proof of residence with the following conditions:

  • All parties must sign the notarized statement.
  • The relative or friend, with whom parties reside, must show their proof of residence.
  • Additional proof of residence (more than one time) is required normally within 30 days. (statement for employer on letter head, pay stub, bank statement, auto insurance, credit card statement, cell phone statement or utility bill)
