     Mrs. Cox has been in the field of education for more than 22 years. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, home of the Golden Lions, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in education; she received a Master Degree in Administration and Supervision from University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Her career as educator started at Belwood Elementary School located in North Little Rock School District. She taught in Arkansas for approximately 4 years, and later relocated to the east coast in August 1998 with her family. She was afforded an opportunity to start her professional career in Maryland with Prince Georges’ County Public Schools. She worked as a teacher at Deerfield Run Elementary, Benjamin Stoddert Middle, and Dr. Ernest Evert Just Middle School. She transitioned to high school as an assistant principal in August 2006. Her philosophy of education is that she believes all children are capable of learning with dedicated teachers, supportive parents, and a child’s willingness to learn.
