MSDE Educator Effectiveness Pilots
Keeping in line with district efforts to enhance performance management and statewide initiatives to reform educator evaluation, PGCPS will be piloting a new evaluation system for teachers and principals.  The primary goal of evaluation is to improve student achievement through educator improvement.  The PGCPS evaluation system will be rooted in the responsibility to provide effective, quality, and relevant professional development.  The resources found on this page were designed to help educators take full advantage of the growth opportunities that are provided by the new evaluation system.

The Maryland Council for Educator Effectiveness (MCEE) has developed a model evaluation system for educators as required under the Education Reform Act of 2010.  PGCPS is one of the seven districts piloting new evaluation systems for teachers and principals in 2011-12.  The system requires evaluation to be based on multiple measures in the areas of professional practice and student growth.
