MSDE Educator Effectiveness Pilots
Keeping in line with district efforts to enhance performance management and statewide initiatives to reform educator evaluation, PGCPS will be piloting new evaluation systems for teachers and principals.  The primary goal of evaluation is to improve student achievement through educator improvement.  The PGCPS evaluation systems will be rooted in the responsibility to provide effective, quality, and relevant professional development.  The resources found on this website were designed to help educators implement the evaluation process in 2012-13 and take full advantage of the growth opportunities that are provided by the new evaluation systems.

Background

The Maryland Council for Educator Effectiveness (MCEE) has developed a model evaluation system for educators as required under the Education Reform Act of 2010.  PGCPS is one of the school districts that will custom design and implement new evaluation systems for teachers and principals.  The evaluation systems will include multiple measures of educator effectiveness in the areas of professional practice and student growth.   To learn more about the MCEE and MSDE's educator effectiveness work, please see the following:
