            NEW !   PGCPS HAS ANNOUNCED A CHANGE FOR THE LAST DAYS OF SCHOOL

 THE LAST DAY FOR STUDENTS WILL NOW BE TUESDAY, JUNE 13. 
Students will be dismissed @1:10 on Friday, June 9, Monday, June 12 and Tuesday, June 13.

PTO FAMILY FUN NIGHT
FRIDAY, JUNE 2, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

There will be plenty of activities for all ages:

 Face painting, vendors, Kona Snow Cones Concessions,  Cotton Candy, Petting Farm,
Pony Rides, Moon Bounces, Cake Walk, Carnival Games and more.

 We are also asking local businesses to set up a station for $15.00, this is a great opportunity to market
your business to the many families who attend

  Carnival Games, Music & Dancing, Moon Bounces, Vendors, Cake Walk, Gold Fish,
Face Painting, Concessions, Kona Snow Cones, Petting Farm, Pony Rides and More

 

 The PTO is offering Wristbands for PRE-SALE in order to cut down on lines at the ticket booth and enable
everyone to enjoy the festivities more. 
The Wristbands allow unlimited access to all of the activities,
food tickets are separate and can be bought on this form as well.

  • To pre-order Wristbands, please fill out the form that was sent home and return with a check or
    cash in an envelope marked “Montpelier Elementary PTO” and return to your child’s
    teacher. Wristbands will be sent home with your child in a sealed envelope the day
    before the carnival. Please make checks payable to: Montpelier Elementary PTO.

  •  A great advantage of buying the Wristbands in advance is that you can get 
    more for your money. Pre-sale Wristbands are only $5.00!!! Wristbands
    purchased at the door will be $7.00.

  •  Family Fun Night will go on RAIN or SHINE – NO REFUNDS

GREAT NEWS!TAG HONOR AWARDED TO MONTPELIER!  
 

EgateMontpelier Elementary school will received the 2012 Maryland Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) School Awards. 

The award recognizes programs that offer superior and equitable gifted and talented education. The rigorous application process required school teams to document the ways that the school’s program is aligned with state criteria for excellence. The Maryland State Advisory Council on Gifted and Talented Education reviewed the applications.

Enrichment and Acceleration Opportunities 

    At Montpelier we follow the TRC or TAG in the Regular Classroom model
The TRC model was developed for schools wiyh a large population of TAG
identified  students  
(greater than 40). 
There are currently over 70 students  
identified as Talented and Gifted in grades 2 through 5 at Montpelier.

 Paper Recycling Program

Please help us continue to earn funds by dropping your
newspapers, catalogs,
 magazines, and misc. paper in the bin.  
Please note:  Cardboard, tissue paper, kitchen and bathroom items
and phone books CAN NOT be accepted.

Boxtops for Education

Our Boxtops for Education program is still going strong.  Save those boxtops
from participating General Mills products and
send them to school with your students
(make sure their name is on the back).  Each week 2 boxtops are chosen and
those students win a trip to our treasure box.
