SAVE YOUR BOX TOPS THIS SUMMER

We are having a contest when students return to school. 
The class that submits the most Box Tops for Education
labels will win a DRESS DOWN DAY!  Box Tops for Educations is
a major fundraiser for the school  EACH Box Top
is worth 10¢.  That adds up fast!  If each students brings in
just 10 box tops that would mean about $600 for Montpelier.
Just think how much more we can earn if you collect them all summer! 
So, PLEASE start clipping and saving.  We'll annouce
our grand total and the winning class during the first week of school!

Summer Activity Calendar/Packets are available to download

    The calendars/packets have daily activities for students during the months of June, July, and August 2017, not only to maintain skills learned, but also to enhance or learn new skills as students prepare for the new school year.

     The Summer Activity Calendars/Packets are optional, but we do ask that you encourage your child or children to download the calendars/packets and complete the daily activities, assist your child or children with the activities, and initial when they have completed the daily activities per content area. Students may receive feedback from their teachers for completion of these activities, and teachers may provide further information regarding credit for the work done. Please check with your child's teacher in September 2017. Answer Keys for Math packets only will be posted the first week of August and will be available by clicking Summer Packets on the main PGCPS webpage

Please note that if your lease or deed is more than 1 year old you will need to bring 2 pieces of current mail showing that you the parent, as the lease holder or owner, are receiving your mail at that address.  Examples are: Utility bill, Mortgage Statement, etc.

Private leases
Private leases MUST be notarized
.  These are leases between individuals as opposed to the apartment complex leases.

Shared Housing Instructions
If you, the parent or guardian, are not the owner or lease holder, shared housing forms must be filled out and NOTARIZED.  These forms are available in our office or can be downloaded here:

GREAT NEWS!TAG HONOR AWARDED TO MONTPELIER!  
 

EgateMontpelier Elementary school will received the 2012 Maryland Excellence in Gifted and Talented Education (EGATE) School Awards. 

The award recognizes programs that offer superior and equitable gifted and talented education. The rigorous application process required school teams to document the ways that the school’s program is aligned with state criteria for excellence. The Maryland State Advisory Council on Gifted and Talented Education reviewed the applications.

Once again, Montpelier is participating is Giant Food's A Plus School Rewards                    Program.

 Special Programs at Montpelier

 
Enrichment and Acceleration Opportunities 

    At Montpelier we follow the TRC or TAG in the Regular Classroom model
The TRC model was developed for schools wiyh a large population of TAG
identified  students  
(greater than 40). 
There are currently over 70 students  
identified as Talented and Gifted in grades 2 through 5 at Montpelier.

  Paper Recycling Program

Please help us continue to earn funds by dropping your
newspapers, catalogs,
 magazines, and misc. paper in the bin.  
Please note:  Cardboard, tissue paper, kitchen and bathroom items
and phone books CAN NOT be accepted.


  Boxtops for Education

Our Boxtops for Education program is still going strong.  Save those boxtops
from participating General Mills products and
send them to school with your students
(make sure their name is on the back).  Each week 2 boxtops are chosen and
those students win a trip to our treasure box.
