The Mattaponi Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to develop and maintain strong partnerships between families and staff to ensure that every student is safe, nurtured, encouraged and challenged to learn-every day. 

    We are guided by the knowledge that all children can have fun learning and that the adults in our school, the families of our students, and the community we live in, will make a difference in the lives of our students.

    The PTO meets regularly in the Mattaponi Elementary School Multipurpose room.  Meetings are generally held from 6:15pm – 7:15pm ET.  Our meetings will be a time to collaborate and plan upcoming events, share resources, and improve communication between families and staff.

    Disclosure: Please note that effective August 18, 2016, volunteers are required to complete: (1) a fingerprint background check and (2) child abuse/neglect clearance from CPS at least 14 days in advance of an activity or event.  The cost is $56.57, and Exception:  Volunteers may complete a commercial background check ($7) instead of a fingerprint check if they are escorted and under the supervision of a PGCPS employee at all times while on the school premises for a one-time event, such as career day, book fairs, school dances, etc.
