 Spanish Speaking FamiliesA Budget Meeting will be conducted in Spanish on 2/7/12, 6:30 PM at Northwestern High School.  It is the goal of the Board of Education to inform all of our constituents about the Proposed 2012-2013 School System Budget.  Because Student Based Budgeting is a new process, we want to ensure that our parents are informed and and will have the opportunity to ask questions about the budget.  There will be interpretation at this meeting, but it will be for our English Speakers. | More information

 New Website for Families and Educators in Maryland MarylandLearningLinks.org  Families and educators interested in early intervention services and special education information and issues now have a user-friendly resource at their fingertips. This is a unique, dynamic website providing information about the Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP) and Individualized Education Program (IEP) processes, family involvement and other topics and trends related to special education.  The site features a number of interactive tools, blogs, and newsletters aimed at administrators, teachers, service providers, and parents. MarylandLearningLinks.org offers helpful information for families and educators working with children with disabilities, birth through age 21.  The website offers users the benefit of an online community.  Parents and educators can join, participate, and share in an ongoing conversation, all designed to strengthen student learning

 Please allow 48 hours for teachers to make return phone calls, emails, or notes       

1. By phone: 301-572-0650; If the teacher is not available at the time of the call then a     message can be left.       

2. By email: Look for teacher's email name on our Staff Page       

3. By agenda book: A quick note can let a teacher know any questions or concerns.       

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aide/service for effective communication, or the modification of a procedure/policy in order to participate in a school system sponsored program/service/activity should contact the school principal, individual or organization hosting the event, or the PGCPS ADA Compliance Officer, Ms. Elizabeth Davis, at 301-952-6793.  Requests should be made as soon as possible, but not later than 48 hours before the scheduled event.

Get Involved and Make a Difference! The MLK Parent Engagement Program has just launched and we need your assistance. Volunteers are needed for the front office, library, Career Day, Science Fair, Book Fair, field trips and small group instruction.  The School MAX Parent Portal Prince George's County Public Schools is pleased to announce the opening of the School MAX Parent Portal for the parents and caregivers of students who attend Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School. Via the Parent Portal parents can access current and important information regarding student attendance, assignments and grades, and disciplinary actions. The Parent Portal allows for increased parental support and involvement in the academic progress of our students.
