At Margaret Brent, we use a multimodal approach that may include picture communication symbols, topic boards, American Sign Language and/or augmentative output devices. We are providing you with a list of picture communication symbols and signs commonly used throughout our school with our students. These are alternative techniques that may assist or provide a student the means to communicate.
Picture Communication System -These are images produced to allow students to use pictures to communicate.

American Sign Language -These are signal language designed for the deaf. These allow students to use their hands to communicate.
