Exterior Clock Installation Project at University Park ES
On December 21, 2009, members of the Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) Maintenance Department installed a decorative four sided outdoor clock at University Park Elementary School. This beautiful 15 foot clock, donated to the school by the Town of University Park was installed near the flag pole at the main entrance of the school. The donation was facilitated by former town councilmember Lynn Dudinski. The clock was manufactured by the Fancy Clock Company and weighs 345 lbs.
Children from the school squealed with delight as the clock was unwrapped and lowered into place by the large boom truck provided by PGCPS Electrical Shop. Ariving just before the winter break; the clock was a wonderful present for the school and a source of pride for the Town of University Park.
Special thanks to Garrie Shope, PGCPS Electrical Planner and all the men from the Electrical Shop; additional thanks to Terry Brown, Master Foreman of the Grounds Shop and his workers who installed the foundation of the clock.

Chimney Replacement Project at Oxon Hill Middle School
The Chimney Replacement Project at Oxon Hill Middle School consisted of refurbishing a deteriorating chimney.
In order to completely demolish the chimney, the existing roof had to be protected. A scaffold was then erected to access work areas. The equipment on the ground included rough terrain fork lift, mortar mixer and disposal dumpster.
This project significantly enhanced the safety of the boiler operation at this school.
