Dear Parents/Guardians of Magnolia Elementary School:

As summer vacation comes to an end, now would be the perfect opportunity to take a few minutes to focus on the 2016–2017 school year. We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential.  We know that a strong partnership will make a great difference in your child’s education.  As partners we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.  We want our students to believe that all goals that they set for themselves are achievable.

This theme will serve as our framework for building a school program and climate, which cultivates positive and successful teaching, motivating student success and parent involvement.  We will continue to build upon existing programs, improving as we go, and implementing new incentives to extend and refine the knowledge of our students.

Magnolia will continue to embrace and celebrate student achievement.  Our quarterly Honor’s Day Program will serve as a motivational tool to reflect upon student progress and stimulate goals for student achievement.  Magnolia will also continue to implement programs such as the Character Education, WMES News Broadcast, Imagine Learning Extended Learning Program, Robotics Club, Science Club, Step and Flag Team and Dance Team.

In order to make a smooth transition from the summer vacation, you are being provided information regarding the 2016-2017 school calendar, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, school supply list, opening day, transportation, and lunch prices. Please note that this information is posted on the school’s website.

Parents are encouraged to volunteer at least one hour a week or participate in at least 3 of their child’s activities during the year.  Your children need you. Also, parents are welcomed to become active members of the Parent Teacher Advisory Council. The focus of the PTAC is to ensure parent/community involvement through the spirit of volunteering.  Please support Magnolia by getting involved in your child’s education at every level.  Your children deserve the best.  We are counting on YOU!!

A hundred years from now

it will not matter what our bank accounts were

the sort of houses we lived in, or the kind of cars we drove

but the world may be different because we were important in the life of YOUR CHILD.
