School Level Parent Involvement Policy/Plan

Lewisdale Elementary School embraces the research that parents play a vital role in their child’s education and that increasing parental involvement will improve student achievement.    This parent involvement plan is a working document; collaboratively written to empower our parents to stay involved.  Staff development, parents providing training for teachers, frequent parent-teacher communication, family-school compact, quarterly parent-teacher conferences, informative websites, and quarterly workshops are just some of the proven strategies that are incorporated into our plan.  During the first quarter of the school year all stakeholders will be  informed about the parent involvement plan and how they can be involved in the planning, review, and improvement of this plan.

Goal 3: By June 2010 Lewisdale Elementary School will develop strategies and programmatic structures at schools to empower parents to participate actively in their children’s education.
