The History of the School

The memory of Frederick E. McCormick-Goodhart and his wife Henrietta, daughter of Leander J. McCormick of Chicago and grandaughter of the inventor of reaping machine who purchased the property on which this school building stands in the year 1920 when they moved from London, England to Maryland. The name of "langley Park" derives from the ancestral Goodhart estate near Beckenham, county Kent, England. Mr&Mrs McCormick-Goodhart died in 1924 and 1932 respectively. This school site was donated equally by Eander McCormick-Goodhart and William Magazine 1949.
